Livewire

Dear Mr. Thompson

I have heard about some topics we have to discuss.

The first point is that you advise a friend to buy shares in our company. I think that is an excellent advice, but it was just before we announced our best annual report ever. This is a serious problem and I hope the stock exchange supervision would not ask many questions and you have the right answers.
The second is that Rochester Electronics have put a new can opener on the market and it looks like our product. Now I have information that you meet Monica Kaminsky sometimes. I am sure that is only a private partnership and I know you got divorced last year. But I am afraid we have an information leak in our company and we have to find it out.
The last concerns Valerie Harper. I have heard there are problems too. Please tell me if it is possible to work with her or if she is not qualified for the job. I personal can not believe that reproaches, but we have to find a solution for all three topics.

During the last three years you have turned our company from loss making into a high profitable organisation.
I hope this will stay on.

Yours sincerely

Brookfield Airport

Dear Ms. Giddings

Re: Your complaint

Thank you for your letter from August, 3.
I am very sorry that you had to spend so much time at Brookfield Airport waiting for your baggage and what happened with your suitcase.
I really apologise for the inconvenience.
We know that the resources at Brookfield Airport are limited, especially at peak times there could be longer waiting times.
So we decided to spend much money on improving the baggage reclaim area and process. This is a big project for Brookfield Airport, because the terminal building has an award winning modernist design and has a protected status, so the structure cannot be altered in any way.
Of course I con offer you compensation for the damage suitcase. I have only to inform our insurance company.
I hope I will see you soon at Brookfield Airport again, maybe our new baggage reclaim area is finished at your next journey.

Yours sincerely

Ethical Orientation Questionnaire

1) depends on. A little lie is better not telling, but a big lie hurts much more if the true comes through.
2) to apply rules too rigidly (are rules always right)
3) unmerciful
4) breaking a promise to a friend
5) just and fair
6) not helping someone in troubles
7) depends on, but more on personal feelings
8) yes, but I don´t want to lose my job
9) of course if anyone gets hurt

Is it ethical for President Fritz Verzetnitsch to claim termination prokuity

I don´t know.
But have a look in the past. Fritz Verzetnitsch was fifteen (I think so) years the leader of the working population. In all this years the social partnership works fine (I hope so) and after Viktor Klima Verzetnitsch was traded (is this the right word?) as his follower. Verzetnitsch´s penthouse in the inner city was allways a problem for the public und for his party the SPĂ–.
So things changes, Verzetnitsch turns very fast (in some days)from a good in a bad guy.
I´m not sure if its very ethical if he claims for such a high amount. I think he has a proper contract and the law is on his side.
But there´s another problem. How the worker´s president can get such excellent conditions in his contract. He earnd much more then dozen of the simple members. Is this too much or had he done so much for the people.
Do we need a labour union nowadays, have the companies the ethical correctness?
An Example: A fried of mine was searching for a job. He didn´t found anything. So he asked his local labour union if the can help him, they said no, it´s impossible.
Some days ago he found a job and three! das later the labour union asked him if he want to get a member. He throwed them out.
In my personal opinion a labour union it´s not bad, but is the actual the right one?

At the end I think the termination prokuity for Mr. Verzetnitsch (ethical) is not ok, but I don´t know what happens if there´s no labour union.
